Green is the New Black Fashion!

Posted in: St. Patrick's Day Fashion

St. Patrick’s Day is here, but are you one that dresses in green for this holiday? According to some accounts, blue was the first color associated with St. Patrick’s Day, but that started to change in the 17th century. Green is one of the colors in Ireland’s tri-color flag, and it has been used in the flags of several Irish revolutionary groups throughout history.  Ireland is the “Emerald Isle,” so named for its lush green landscape.  The color green is not only part of this month’s holiday, but it’s this year’s color (2017) according to Pantone.

Every March 17, we break out every piece of green clothing and jewelry and shamrock-shaped pins to participate in this holiday and hopes to not get “pinched”.  For me I like to add a pop of green  into my outfits to show my fun and creative side.  So this year I have created three outfits from my closet that may inspire you when it comes to getting dressed this Friday or for your next St. Patty’s Day soirée!

First outfit: Cabi Green Printed Business blouse paired with Cabi’s black leather skirt and a long silver necklace with black circles from the The Limited.

Second outfit: Ralp Lauren dress navy and green color blocking detail. I also added the Stella & dot Gold Frindge necklace.

Third outfit: A sleeveless olive green blouse (monteau Los Angelas) with a black zipper detail in the front and I paired with (Cabi) boyfriend jeans and a (Kate Spade) women’s black and white Carolyn Striped Crossbody .  I also added a Steve Madden black peep toe bootie (Nubuck upper material) with a block heel.
