Feathers n Fringe boutique event!

Posted in: Local Boutique Event

Thank you Feathers n Fringe https://www.feathersnfringe.com for opening your boutique to us last night! We got the opportunity to try on some cute Boho Chic Fashion, mingle and learn about trends!  As we talked about “trends” and how to fit that into your style, the ladies were intrigued and couldn’t wait to apply it to their own style! I also want to thank Isabelle Jolene for co-costing with me and sharing her new Fashion App- Style Squad!

For those of you who missed it, here is what they we learned about “trends”.

As Heidi Klum would say on Project Runway, “In fashion one day you’re in and the next day you’re out.” That applies to the term, “trends” too.  For those of you who don’t know what a trend is, it’s a general direction in which something is developing or changing.  As a wardrobe stylist I like to ask my clients, do you like to follow trends?  I think it’s important for me because it gives me an idea of what direction to go with their wardrobe.  Some say yes, some say no, for those who say no I know they are wanting to look stylish and feel comfortable.  For those who say, yes are looking for particular looks.

Her are three ways to look at trends:

Don’t go all-in!  In life, sometimes it’s good to go all-in on something, but with “New fashion trends” is not one of those things. The key is to identify one or two trends that you like and adopt them into your wardrobe slowly.

Understand your personal style and how to blend them the two: Knowing your personal style is one of the first things you need to know when building a wardrobe.  Knowing your personal style will determine if your interested in the current trends.  For example, statement stripes were a trend back in summer/spring 2017, for me wearing bold stripes is not my style and it will not flatter my shape.

Get inspired:  Some people need help identifying their style and there are ways to get inspired.  For example; fashion magazines, Pinterest, or look at your favorite celebrity.  I offer a clothing personality quiz here on my website it’s under the blog tab and to the right look for “Learning Activity-quiz” give it a try!   Style Squad https://www.facebook.com/stylesquadapp/ is also another great tool!  Style Squad is a fashion app that allows users to get instant feedback on outfits and potential purchases from a community of peers and stylists.

So if you’re looking to add some creativity to your next event at your boutique then call Fashionality!  It’s more then just shopping it’s learning the fundamentals of style guiding you in a fashionable direction! Stay tuned for my next event until then, thank you ladies for coming out and supporting!
